A black and white drawing of a girl holding a large book and looking directly at the viewer.Starting with the Spring 2024 issue, Atlanta Review will now publish book reviews for recent poetry titles.  We’re especially interested in reviews of debut authors at independent presses, so if you’ve read something brand new and fabulous lately, why not share your review with us?

Our guidelines are simple:  We’re looking for reviews whose tone is bright, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and generous.  Chapbook reviews should range 500-700 words. Full length collection reviews should range 700-1000 words.  All reviews should be typed and double-spaced.

The journal will publish 1-2 reviews per issue.  But depending on interest and feedback, we may make some reviews available online, independent of the print issue.

Submissions can be made in Submittable, and are free.  Please note, we will not be able accept reviews by snail-mail.
