We’re excited to announce that Elina Kumra from Sunnyvale, California, is this year’s Dan Veach Prize winner for her wondrous prose poem “God Is My Love.”
Elina is Reed Magazine‘s 2024 Emerging Writer. She has won First Place in Third Coast Magazine and Polyphony as well as a Marin County Poetry Award. She also won Second Place as the California Youth Poet Laureate.
Elina is the Editor in Chief and founder of VelvetPoets. She is currently focusing on A Brush on Recovery—opiate recovery through poetry.
The Dan Veach Prize for Younger Poets recognizes writers between the ages of 18 and 23. She will receive $100 prize and publication in the Fall 2024 issue of Atlanta Review.
